History of Leo Distributors
In the mid 1950’s, Richard and Ruth Liechty began Leo Distributors. Leo Distributors started by specializing in building products—aluminum siding, manufacturing aluminum windows, and installing Wayne Dalton garage doors.
In the Late 1960’s, the Liechty’s sold equal shares to 3 employees—Bill Kurtz, Larry Seiler, and John Christleib. After some time, Richard Liechty sold his remaining quarter to the other three partners. Nearly five years later Christleib sold out to Kurtz and Seiler. After John sold out, Leo Distributors moved to Dupont around 1978. In 1985, Leo Distributors burnt down. Thanks to strong support from employees and suppliers, Leo Distributors was able to survive. Within a few months after the fire, Seiler sold his shares to Bill and Deb Kurtz making them the sole owners. |

Bill Kurtz then rebuilt Leo Distributors, on Dupont Road. After many years at the Dupont location, Parkview Hospital announced its relocation and bought the property. Bill Kurtz then moved Leo Distributors two miles east to its current location, 8501 Mayhew Road in November of 2007. We are now in our new, improved building with a modern showroom that’s visible just off 469 at Maplecrest. Please feel free to stop in and visit us! Our Location
